Those first few weeks with a new baby are beautiful, exhausting, messy, and gone far too quickly.

I'm a newborn photographer based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, creating cinematic, emotive photographs for families who want to remember those early days as they actually felt. My newborn sessions are lifestyle and family-focused, with an emphasis on connection, movement, and the little moments that make those first days so fleeting.

I don't do traditional posed newborn photography. You won't find me folding your baby into froggy poses, balancing them in props, or expecting them to sleep perfectly while I arrange every little detail.

Instead, I'll photograph your family together.

Newborn sessions can take place in the comfort of your home or outdoors in nature, depending on the season, your family's personality, and the kind of photographs you're drawn to. We'll cuddle on the couch, let your baby stretch and squirm, photograph tiny details, spend time together as a family, and let your baby be a baby.

You don't need a perfectly decorated nursery or a spotless house. You don't need to know how to pose. And your baby certainly doesn't need to cooperate.

I'll guide you when you need it and step back when I don't. Some of the photographs may be quiet and tender, some may be a little chaotic, and some may make you laugh years from now because they capture exactly what those first days were like.

The goal isn't to create a perfect picture of a perfect newborn.

It's to remember your baby exactly as they were, and your family exactly as you were when you first became one.

Newborn Sessions in Fredericksburg, Virginia

I photograph newborn families throughout Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Caroline County, and surrounding areas. Sessions can take place in your home for a cozy, intimate feel or outdoors in nature for something a little more cinematic and open.

Your newborn session can focus entirely on your new baby, but I especially love documenting the whole family. Parents, siblings, pets, tiny details, sleepy cuddles, and all the little interactions that make this season yours.

What to Expect

Before your session, we'll talk through the location, outfits, timing, and what you're hoping to remember about this season. If we're photographing in your home, you don't need to have everything perfectly cleaned or styled. I'll help you choose the spaces with the best light and work with what you already have.

During your session, there is no pressure to perform and no list of poses you need to memorize. I'll guide you through natural interactions and give you simple direction when needed, while allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and letting your baby be a baby.

Afterward, I'll carefully edit your photographs to fit the cinematic style you see throughout my work and deliver your finished gallery within 2 weeks.
