Hi! I'm Madison

Fredericksburg Va Photographer

I'm a Fredericksburg, Virginia photographer endlessly inspired by the warm, fleeting moments that deserve to be remembered forever. I picked up my first camera nearly a decade ago, and photography quickly became something far deeper than a hobby. It became my passion and the way I see the world.

After years of learning, growing, and falling more in love with the craft, I decided to pursue photography full time. Today, I specialize in capturing genuine connection and honest emotion through imagery that feels timeless, natural, and true to you.

When I'm not behind the camera you'll find me spending time with my son, Rowan, the inspiration behind the name Row & Co Photography.

I believe photography is more than art. It's an heirloom. A way to preserve the people, moments, and memories that will matter most.

My approach

My approach at Row & Co Photography is rooted in connection, not perfection. Rather than focusing on stiff poses or forced smiles, I create space for genuine moments to simply happen. Through gentle guidance and thoughtful prompts, I capture the emotions, relationships, and little details that make your story uniquely yours.

Photos of your toddler with sticky hands sitting on Dad's shoulders while Mom reaches for a hug. A couple deeply in love, kissing, cuddling, and dancing like no one is watching. Expecting mothers cradling the baby they haven't met yet, not knowing their hearts are about to double in size.

Those are the moments I live for. The in-between moments, the real moments, the ones that become the stories you'll tell for years to come.

What Sets Row & Co Photography Apart?

There are so many incredibly talented photographers in Fredericksburg and even more throughout Virginia.

What sets me apart isn't that I'm the best photographer in the area. It isn't my camera, my editing style, or my prices. What sets me apart is my passion, my love for what I do, and the way I see people.

When I told my friends and family I was starting this business, nobody was surprised. In fact, most of them probably thought, "It's about time." Photography has been my dream since I was in seventh grade when I joined yearbook club. Long before Row & Co Photography existed, I was the friend with a camera in her hand, documenting everything and everyone around me. Starting this business didn't feel like choosing a new path. It felt like finally stepping fully into the one I had been on all along.

Helping people has always been one of my greatest passions

Anticipating people's needs has always come naturally to me. The small moments matter. The darting eyes, the split second of insecurity, the moment you're wondering what to do with your hands or whether you're doing this whole photo thing right. I see it. I adjust. I make you comfortable and pretend it never happened.

Creating heirlooms is probably the biggest reason I love what I do.

As morbid as this may sound, people only last so long. Every time I take a photograph, I find myself wondering: What if this was the last photo ever taken of them? Does this show their heart? Does it express their love? Does this photograph feel like them?

One day these photos may be shown to their children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. Long after the moment has passed, the photograph remains. That's what I value above everything else.

Lastly, I love creating art.

I love jaw-dropping, emotional images that feel like stills from your favorite little-known film. The kind of photographs that feel like a scene from a music video or a memory you've somehow stepped back into. Art shouldn't be reserved for magazines or celebrities. It should be available to everyone.

I remember searching for my own wedding photographer and feeling torn. I wanted beautiful, timeless photos for my album, my save-the-dates, and the walls of my home. But I also wanted the moody, cinematic images that felt the way our relationship felt.

Most people tell photographers to pick one style, choose one niche, and stick with it.

I can't.

My style changes within the same session because people aren't one-dimensional. We'll get the smiling photo Grandma wants for her mantel. We'll get the photo you'll post on Facebook. And then we'll create the images that are just for you. The ones that make your stomach flip when you look at them years later because they bring you right back to how that season of life felt.

Sessions with me are intimate and relaxed. I'll pose you when you need posing, guide you when you need guidance, and prompt you when you don't know what to do next. By the end of our session, you'll forget why you were nervous in the first place.

And if we're lucky, we'll leave feeling a little bit like besties.
